If you are currently behind in your mortgage, you are probably being inundated with junk mail and phone calls from people and organizations claiming they can help you. Foreclosure prevention is as easy as 1-2-3

STEP 1 – Register for a Foreclosure Prevention Workshop
If you’re behind on mortgage payments or received a default notice, we recommend you register to attend one of our Foreclosure Prevention Workshops. These workshops are designed to provide struggling homeowners an overview of the foreclosure process and offer individual counseling opportunities to develop an action plan to avoid foreclosure.

Foreclosure Prevention Workshops are offered on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Click here to register. Select one of the dates listed and complete the Registration Form. You will receive a confirmation of your registration.

STEP 2 – Complete the Foreclosure Prevention Intake Packet
In order to provide the most effective service, we need you to complete a Foreclosure Prevention Intake Packet. Receiving this information is essential to help resolve your mortgage situation. We cannot develop an appropriate action plan unless we have a complete and accurate picture of your financial situation.
Click here to download the Foreclosure Prevention Intake Packet. Please print the documents, complete the information and provide copies of the documents requested. Bring a completed packet when you attend our Foreclosure Prevention Workshop. You can also Mail or Fax completed packets to:

Services you can Trust

Neighborhood Home Solutions is one of the few organizations in our area certified by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.

In the past two years, NHS has helped more than 1200 homeowners, in seven counties across Tampa Bay. Most of the funds for these services come from the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling Program. This program was developed to help millions of Americans behind in their mortgages due to the devastating effects of the economy.

If you have lost your job, or have had to take a lower paying job due to the downturn in the economy we may be able to help you. We realize that sometimes all you need is a helping hand.

I look at it as not a hand out but a hand up. You can’t think of it as you don’t deserve it or you are a failure or it’s a handout because it is not. It’s a helping hand to get you back on your feet. – NHS client

I listened to the program as she walked me through it. I started feeling much better to know that there is help somewhere….and when she helped me and I get the help it’s like a burden was lifted off me. – NHS client

Florida Hardest-Hit Fund

The federal government has allocated funding to help pay the mortgages of qualified homeowners who are unemployed or underemployed through no fault of their own. The Florida Hardest-Hit Fund (HHF) program aims to assist qualified Florida homeowners by providing mortgage assistance for up to six (6) months (capped at $12,000), or until the homeowner finds adequate employment to resume paying the mortgage (whichever comes first).

HHF assistance is paid directly to the loan servicer/lender for those homeowners deemed eligible to participate in the program.
